   If you've ever considered a getting a Seaplane Rating to add to your pilot certificate, now may be the perfect time. Current pilots often get their rating with as little as 5 hours of training, and seldom does it take more than 10 hours to complete all the necessary instruction and qualify for the checkride.

   Your intensive training will include instruction in all facets of seaplane operation, including the complex aircraft systems of the Lake Buccaneer LA4-200, plow taxi, step taxi, normal takeoff, approach to landing, normal landing, choppy/rough/glassy-water takeoff and landing, sailing, emergency procedures, mooring/docking/beaching, FARs, operations on public waterways, high density-altitude procedures, and checkride preparation.

    Jackson, California is located in the Sierra foothills, 45 miles southeast of Sacramento. Numerous lakes, reservoirs and rivers are just minutes away so your training is both efficient and effective.
    While you're training and flying, your spouse can enjoy the beauty and recreational activities of the local area. Golf, winetasting, historical towns and buildings, and gold mine tours are all within the town limits of Jackson and/or neighboring communities. Numerous restaurants and shopping opportunities can be found in Jackson and nearby Sutter Creek. There is no shortage of fun things to do in the Mother Lode.

About the Lake Buccaneer LA4-200 Amphibious Airplane
    The Lake Buccaneer is the ideal seaplane for training and fun flying. Powered by a Lycoming IO-360, the Lake has plenty of power for comfortable cruising and water operations. The floating hull design puts the crew and passengers right down on the water, and is often used as a platform for fishing and shoreside scenic touring.
